Interview with Ken Barthelmey
Q. Which software’s you have in your arsenal and why you prefer to use them?
To create my paintings I only work with Adobe Photoshop using a graphic tablet. This software is so amazing; working digitally allows me to be faster and more flexible because the digital domain offers me endless possibilities
Q. Do you have a dream project that you would like to work on?
I haven't dreams, only goals! My goal is to work on big movie-blockbusters like James Cameron's Avatar and to see that my creations become alive and run around the screen. In the future I will also do some personal projects, based on film or comic form. But at the moment I’m concentrating on my career as an artist.
Q. Are you working on any projects currently? If so, what are they?
At the moment I’m working on different illustrations for magazines and books. A short time ago I was involved in making some concepts for a game production, but I can't tell you any more details because I haven't the permission to talk about it until it releases.
Q. What advice you like to give the upcoming artists, how they can create beautiful illustrations?
Simply have fun to paint and do a lot of practice. Nobody becomes an artist by tomorrow. Attend a sketchbook and do a lot of sketches, you will always learn something new when you work on new paintings...
