Interview with Keo Studio
Hello Jeff, please tell me something about your nature of job, position and Keo Studio?
Hello, my name is Jean-François Carré, I’m an Account and Communication Manager in Keo Studio. I’m in charge of all the business development of Keo Studio. Keo is specialized in CGI Animations, Motion Design & VFX for Commercials, Web and Print. Our clients are principally Agencies, Advertising and TV Production.
Tell us a bit about the services offered and on the projects your studio has worked on?
Like I said, Keo Studio works for Advertising activities on TV, Web and Print. We just finished an animated short film for Veolia Transports, describing in a graphic and funny way their new system for public transportation management (ticket reservation, time schedule, informations…) based on cell phones.
We are currently working on animations for KFC, another website for Leroy Merlin, and several other smaller projects.
Can you tell us at how many locations Keo-Studio is available and how many artists are working there?
Keo Studio is a French company located in the north of France in Lille.
We have two commercials agencies in Paris & Brussels. It’s a good way to be closer to our client.
Our team has 34 VFX artists.
Please tell us on which projects Keo-Studio are currently working and which software’s you are using and why?
As we need fast processing and usually haven’t much time to develop our own tools, we have to use fast, handy and complete software’s. Our 3D scenes are built, animated and rendered with 3ds max and Vray, and we use After Effects for compositing. Small editing’s are usually done in Sony Vegas but we have a Final Cut pro station for bigger projects. Photoshop is a good pal of ours too…
Is anything different from others which we can’t get anywhere else? Can you disclose approx prices for the services offered?
Generally, it’s the creativity from our Artistic Direction, and the high quality of our productions that make the difference. It’s a little bit delicate to tell you our prices.
Our costs vary between 550€ HT / Day for a modeler and 700€ HT / Day for a Project Manager.
Where do you see the Post Production industry in the next year or so, give us a 12 month crystal ball?
In our opinion post production industry will go to little and well organized structures. Agility and price is always an argument!
