Interview with La Main des Maitres Team
Are you guys planning to do any other short film?
Clément : Not for now.
CaYuS : Why not in the future, maybe a feature movie of “La Main des Maitres” ? (laugh). We don't know yet... we have to wait to know if someone is enough crazy to follow us in such adventure... to be continued!
Looky: For the moment, we all went to work where we wanted to. CaYuS work on VFX for movies and commercials, Clément is doing rendering in an animation studio, and I finish my comic strips and I'm starting my own cartoon serie with my company (“Soudja prod - La Cour des Miracles”).
About La Main des Maîtres, we want to show it to a lot of people, and we will see in the future...
Please give some tips to our readers which like to create a short film and how the finance can be managed?
Clément: Considering the fact that it is a student film there were no fees, except paying the school and the food.
Looky: We were helped by our school with the place, hardware and software we needed to. But I do not think you really need all that. When you see thousands of amateurs on Youtube or Dailymotion directing short films always more and more amazing without any money... I think it was definitely proved that the best financing of a short remains the desire and the motivation.
CaYuS: Moreover, making a graduate short like this, maybe one of the rare moments in your life when you can spend all the time you want on your project, doing it how you want without any money consideration. It's a real pleasure. And if one of you is also going to do his short... please, be without any limit: just enjoy it! Do whatever you want, how you want. And spend all the time you need to finish it in time. It is too important that you can't give up before the end. Never!
Have you heard about the CGArena before and if yes then how you rate this portal?
CaYuS : Sure, I especially like it for all the making of, tutorials, articles, interview like this one. Hopefully you will like it too.
Looky : Because I am not familiar with English I did not heard about CGArena before... but I'm sure you do a wonderful work. And as you write us a good article, I will easily give you the maximal rate (laugh).
