Interview with Renderosity

Hello, please tell us something about Renderosity and how this is different from other graphic stores?
Renderosity has been an online community for over ten years. We differentiate ourselves from other graphic stores by offering not only a diverse array of 3D content, but also a supplement to our marketplace with one of the largest and robust communities for digital artists on the web. No other online marketplace offers as large an active community as we do.
Please tell in brief about available products in Renderosity and how can they fit in our workflow and makes our life easy?
We offer content that is produced in all major 3D applications including 3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, Vue, Cinema4D and Poser. Many products are offered cross-platform and with add-ons such as textures to simplify your workflow. For many projects with tight deadlines, people come to Renderosity’s MarketPlace to speed up their workflow. Why spend a day to create a model when it can be bought for a good price?
Please tell us how many people team working behind the Renderosity and from which background does everyone comes?
In our home office outside of Nashville, TN we have 7 team members with a diverse background in both 3D and 2D applications. We also employ around 50 other admins, moderators and coordinators from around the globe.
In your marketplace, in large numbers sexy, hot female models are available, any special reason of that?
A beautiful lady is hard for any artists to pass up as a subject. However, we have seen tremendous growth in content such as buildings, vehicles and software. As these products continued to enter our MarketPlace we have seen a larger variety of content available.
If anyone like to sell any model then what’s the procedure and how much commission you will deduct from that?
Getting started selling is easy. Just click the “Selling Products” link on the right sidebar of the Renderosity homepage. Initially the vendor royalties are set at 50/50, but that can get as high as 70% with incentives available to Top Sellers and vendors who sell quality products exclusively with Renderosity.
What has been the biggest challenge in the Renderosity so far?
Because we started out as a Poser community it has been tough overcoming the perception that Renderosity is still primarily a Poser site. We now have as many 3DSMax users as Poser users, and we are seeing year over year growth in areas such as Lightwave, Maya, Vue, Cinema4D, Bryce and Photography.

As you know, Online Piracy poses a major threat for all companies, so are you also affecting from this?
As with most digital content companies, we take piracy very seriously. We actively pursue those who commit piracy, and we encourage our vendors to be proactive with alerting us to piracy of their items.
What’s coming next in Renderosity?
Growth! Digital artists are starting to see that there is money to be made in selling their 3D content and resources. We have several vendors that make a living solely from selling at Renderosity. There is already visible growth in several of our categories within the MarketPlace, and we don’t expect that to slow down anytime soon.

You are continuously advertising with CGArena from almost 8-9 months, please tell your experience with us and how you rate us in comparison to others?
Our campaign drove a lot of visits and had a solid conversion rate for memberships. We were definitely getting a better ROI on CGArena than with similar campaigns at other sites.
