Dietmar Reichenbach - Germany

Greetings dear CGArena-community,

here is my entry.

I intend to build a cartoonish, adorable robot with big head to display images etc.. His shell-parts will be be shaped like an armor.

Reasoned structure, so that the robot apperas plausible in terms of usability like limb movement, so it can be animated.
The robot is not constructed for heavy machinery tasks, but rather for entertainment business. (Obviously...)

Let's get it on!

Doesn't look good yet. His body will shrink and be better proportioned.
His chest shell is to big and his arms and legs to skinny.

WIP Head

Postby DidiTheKid » 22 Nov 2009, 00:46

Thanks ashras99.

The sensors (ears) aren't ready yet.
Basic structure of head is almost done, I'm not satisfied yet, but I leave the head as it is and continue to build up the body.
Forming it all togehter will give me an overview to decide the final shapes.
After that I'll build the "armor".

Modeling the head took up to much time. I run into heavy problems like wrong edge flow due to small knowledge of modeling.

I learned alot!
Started with boxmdeling.
Head was "finished".
Felling of sickness came up.
Pressed delete-key.
Started from scratch.
EPIPHANIC REALIZATION.
Built pieces separately and attached them so I could connect neatly.
Head structure "finished".
HAPPY.

Critics are welcome!

Hello everyone.

The philosophy of this robot:

CG is the lifesource in his heart that keeps him running. Creations are a need. It wonders how to copy and to manifest something from the real world.
In common with CG-Arena and his community, it evolves by understanding and learning.

And while it's all about presenting something, he'll get a big head with a display.

I figured, I could give him some kind of a creation-rod.

Hey guys,

I'm almost done.

Rigging procedure is "complete".

Arms need armor plates. Ear needs some modeling.

Lighting and material setup is quickly done.

I will finish this projekt.
