Mmmm I am no expert on snowy mountains, but at first glance they don't look too snowy to me...

I would mix smooth parts where the slope is gently with sharp angles where the slope is steep, which would be bare rock
I will see it I can find a picture that shows what I mean
My 3D mantra: There is no such thing as saving too often, too much RAM, too much detail, or a renderer that is too fast...

Hey thenad! It's great that you have so much time to work on your entry! I wish I would have as much time! The snow on the roof is already looking a lot better! Although I still think we should be able to see a least SOME part of the room, most likely towards the bottom edges I believe. And you might consider adding a rain gutter below the room, cause right now it ends really abruptly... Other than that, the fence seems a little out of place...it's not usually the kind of fence you would find near houses on ski hills. Most likely they are often made of wood, of othen bushes...at least in my neck of the woods...not metal fences like that... And I like the idea of the lights on the front yard, but I think the problem with them is that the light is too hard, maybe making it softer would help! And lastly, there's a proportions problem with your mountains...they are very close to the house. So it makes the house look really huge in comparisson. Or if not and it's just that the hill is really small (which would be ok too) then in that case the problem is that the hill has too big differences in denivelation. Hope I'm making myself clear... And btw, hope you don't mind all the critique, it's what we are all here for anyway...and you have a great picture going, I'm just trying to help you make it that much better! :D Keep us updated!

the size and distance of the mountains look great but try making the tops come to a peak along with some irregular patches of rocks or trees. looks like it is coming along great!

Warpv is right. You should correct the background. Your modelling are impressive and fast too.

The size of the mountains definately looks a lot better! And I think the rocks, clifs, tree, etc. will help a lot! Will there be like a main chalet at the bottom near the chairlift? Or just the houses? And I was wondering, what point of view will you have in the final render?! Your thread it great to follow, keep it up!

Hey there, here's my two cents on your update! The window is maybe a little too reflective? It looks like a mirror... The fence right now, almost looks like barb-wire to me... The lighting is looking good! Is it going to be a day or night shot?! The lanes in the street are way too small. with the proportions of everything in your picture, I would say that right now, there should be only one lane of traffic in each direction, not two. And the snow on the front lawn is looking real cool! But it's really weird that there's loads of snow on the property, but none in the street...?! You might want to consider making the street a little reflective as well to give it a wet feeling... How's the mountain coming?! Anyway, keep it up!
