Awesome sketch man!! Simply wonderful. And I love the concept, it's really nice! Might I suggest maybe footsteps in the snow coming from the house towards the hill? Anyway, welcome to the forum and best of luck with the challenge!

Thanks guys for comments :D

Unfortunately from a beginning i run into various problems following the sketch (drawn under clear influence of ryan church demos on rendering concepts:P). What i'm getting at is essentially the snow material. I experimented with falloff to achive this nice glow/ specular at the edges of the roof snow-cover for instance, but i'm not yet satisfied. I think that i might use multiple lights with specular only to light up the desired areas. I'm also considering the textures to be painted with an artistic brush to sustain the look of the painting. I would be pleased if you guys post some suggestions. I will probably post the trial renderings (on snow material) tomorrow.

Once more thanks! :)

Hi! Here are the early stage images. Please post some comments on that. There are no textures at all, yet:)

Hello again! I had little time but trying to mak some progress. Look at these images. I'm let's say proud of the snow material which is actually sss skin shader which i love:) Also added some detail in walls and chimney. The next post will be probably on the modelling of the children on top of the hill (or interior of the house coz like "A very wise man once said: Art is in the details! " hehe). And great thanks for your comments, i'm loving it;] keep it up...
