i hav made a bit of changes to the corridor....hav made lighting dimmer....now does it look good....stranger..pls reply...thanks ..

by the way stranger....what is is this GI and how is it used??could u pls help me out...

GI is Global illumination... and right in max help document for more detailed information and use.

coridor is looking good texture too but as I think u should work on light and shadow. is it.

:D Looks Gud,but dude u have to work on Shaders & lighting.Especially pillars ,wall & white light.Looking forward to see the new rendered image soon :lol: .

hi mecool,

sorry for late reply. :) . The corridor came out good. but still more work needed on lighting.
well..for GI the thing is..one cannot use a default scanline renderer. There is a need of an external renderer like mental ray or vray. You can refer to the particular renderer's manual. Each has diffrent settings.
I have found some good tuts on the web for you. For GI in mental ray.
just download them.

What is GI ?

Everyone knows global illumination but what exactly it is...in short bouncing of light/smooth shadows which external renderes calculate for you easily without any pain.

But stranger, GI can also be render through scanline. If you remember, when you add skylight in a scene and render it...that is too GI. And as i said GI is bouncing of light so you can create a fake GI setup too.

Every renderer takes lot of time but external renderers are much faster and fake GI setup is faster in all. I dont remember the location but there is one script which create a sphere of fake lights and gives awsome results without increasing the render time.
