Challenge: Christopher Snow: Canada

Postby warpv » 26 Jan 2007, 21:48

Hey everyone! Well, I decided to go ahead and participate in this challenge aswell! Last challenge was over the holidays, which turned out to be a very busy time for me...but now I should be able to put in a little more time on my entry! Let's hope so! Here's my concept:

The time is present day, it's an old european street corner, and on the left you see an old bathered wall. The wall is riddled with bullet holes. It's an old firing wall, where people were punished and executed for their crimes.

Btw, it's awesome to see the forum so active! I don't ever remember a challenge starting with such a bang! There are so many people and replies, it's crazy! And the diversity of where everyone is from is really great aswell, makes for a very international challenge!

So here's my concept sketch below, and I will keep you guys updated on my progress!

Goodluck with your concept. It will need great textures. But your modeling starts well.

hey warpv. Great to see you once more here in the challenge. Great skeetch. I believe you aim at givig us the same feeling that one gets when looking at a guilllitine or anyplace where death had occured. A feeling of dread and haunt. Nice concept.

the modeling is great. Matter of fact, i have always liked the preofessionel way with which u post your wip images. great going.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the replies! Yes, I will try to get a good early start on modeling, cause I know that texturing will be a pretty big part of this image, so I want to keep enough time to really concentrate on that later on.

For those of you who are liking the colors, well as those who have followed my entries in previous challenges, you know I always start modeling with the standard MAX colors and it always seems to turn out something pretty colorful! :)

mat, for the modeling I do try to follow my sketches pretty closely, of course some small things will change here and there, but the overall aspect of what I drew, is what I want to translate into 3D so I try to stick to it the best I can!

thhcreate, I'm glad you like my WIP images! It's a model I use for all my WIPs, and it's not like I HAVE to use it... It does take me a few more seconds every time I want to upload an image, so I'm glad you guys at least enjoy it! It makes it worth it! ;)

Thanks again for your interest in my thread and I will try to update you guys as soon as I get the chance!
