No problem Dmacb, that's a guideline. You can render bigger then that too. Your size is perfect too.. but dont add a watermark in the final high-res image. Specially challenge title.

There is no minimum resolution but its good if you submit a image around 1200 x 1024 or bigger if you can render.

Regarding 72dpi, read this small tutorial and your problem will be solved.

Hi Ashras99!

Is there any rule about not being allowed postproduction in photoshop (or similar products)?
Because I wanted to make a render with several elements like occlusion and so forth and mixe them all...
Be well!!!

dmacb, post production is allowed like mixing of occulsion pass or color correction, but adding or removing of anything is not allowed there.

cadworx, sponsors-moderators-administrator and members vote counts for the final judge process. So, final results comes from all of them. Everything have some percentage but vote % is least in all these.

I hope this is the right place to post this!
One thing I would like to ask, Is Occlusion the only pass allowed for post
work? I use to render separate passes for specular, reflection, shadows
from light 1, shadows from light 2 and so on! This gives greater control
over the final output! I know some people also do that! But never add or
remove anything from the scene, just color correcting each pass and
controling layer modes, for example in after effect?
Another case is when dealing with several hair/fur definition! My pc can't
handle all that when I have several of them, it simply crashes! That's why
I render them in different passes and compose them in after effect!
If this is not allowed, then you might notify us to plan our scene in a
different way!

Thanks for your time!
:)

Mat, whatever things you have point out everything is allowed. In simple terms all passes, color correction, merge the images rendered in different layers or passes.

Just removing or adding anything is not allowed. Like if you dont like a long hairs in your final output then you cant shorten in photoshop or removing the hairs or adding any character props in photoshop. these things are not allowed.

DOF also can be rendered as zdepth or anyway in 3d but not creating in photoshop by using any photoshop plugin or tools. Hope now i make clear the rules. Still have any doubt then please post. I am happy to answer that too.
