Overall it looks great! A nice improvement over the last update. Here's a few things I saw though in this last WIP. The champagne bottle and cork still seem out of proportion to me. Don't know if you have a champagne cork and flute at home, but you might want to put them next to each other to see. I'm no expert in this field, but to the untrained eye, the bottle and cork still seem too big to me. Also, the corner of the walls is very non-apparent. Should there not be more shadows in that corner because of the two lights being so close?! The texture on the near chair seems a little weird to me and lastly, the plates don't looks like they cast shadows well enough. Which makes them looks like they're floating. Especially the far one. But like I said, it's coming along really great! And I can't wait to see the next WIP!

Thanks so far for the feedback guys. After a good night's rest and looking at the image with fresh eyes, I have to agree, that bottle does look a bit big. I will scale it and the cork down slightly.

warpv: Yeah, the corners of the room, I think it's because I have my GI set low, that's why it doesn't get defined properly. Once I'm completely finished with all the modelling and texturing I will add some more (a lot more) photons and see what the results are.

I am still working on the chair and it's texturing. As for the plates, yeah I see what you mean. I'll add some cutlery, forks, spoons etc. and see if that will help it stay down and not float so much. ;)

the_joker: Adding more photons should also help lighten the scene a bit. I might even add an exposure control and fine tune that too.

The SSS on the candles are still bouncing down the candle too far. I have been studying a lot of lit candles and the top are normally slightly almost white, then about a cm or two bright red and then fading off to normal candle wax colour for another cm or so. But it also depends on the quality of the wax and the dye used in it. Will have to tweak that SSS material.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. Much appreciated. :)

Work caught up with me this week that's why it's been so quiet. I am busy working on the candles, champagne material and the wood on the chairs. Will be posting an update soon.

hypnotik: How could I have forgotten the champagne bucket?? That's a brilliant idea! Thanks man. :)

Ok, here's the update. Doesn't look like much is done, mainly because much didn't get done this past week. ;) Things I have to still tweak is the reflection in the plate (too much), add a champagne bucket, the texture of the chair and the caustics settings. Oh yes, and the candle flames will be added later on, don't worry. :)

Nice! But IMO the fork and the knife look from different cutlery sets. I am no expert on those things, but usually the thickness of the handle is more or less the same, and in this case the fork's handle looks much thinner than the one of the spoon or the fork.

That, and if that is a tablecloth in the middle, the border should be fatter than the middle, because of the folding and stitching, right?

Anyway, you are producing a very beautiful image, I am sure the final image will be quite breathtaking.

Yeah thanks. I also realised this afternoon that the knife doesn't fit so I tweaked it. And that is a overlay cloth in the middle. I tried to make it thicker on the edges but it doesn't show up nicely in the render so I will make it even more thicker.

Thanks man. Yeah, gonna be adding some bubbles using small spheres with the same material as the liquid. At first the liquid was dark green. ;)

I was thinking, maybe you could put the rose outside the red cloth, because as of the illumination right now, it gets "cloaked". Against the white tablecloth, it will predictably stand out. Just remember the thorns in the stem of the rose, they are a different colour from the stem.

Great work! Even though the adjustments are minor like you said, they really do help a lot your picture! Proportions now seem really good! Except the knife like juanmanuel said. And like he said also, the rose could be place on the white/beige to better stand out. Finally, maybe a few wrinkles in the tablecloth?! Cause I've never seen a restaurant that has such perfectly flat tablecloths! ;) Lol! You're doing awesome work my friend, keep it up!

The rose idea is good. Oh, and there are no thorns on the rose. One rarely give a woman a rose with the thorns still on it, unless you really don't like her in which case the rose is not such a bright spark idea. ;)

As for the table cloth, I will try and add crease or two in it to show where the cloth was folded.

Time is running out so in 2 days or so I better start rendering the final render.
