:-) OK as I see you are agree with the asking answering stuff then let's begin :-)

I always wanted to know how some one model a face ...from where it begin and when he/she will end it ... and which way they use to get there...

for my self I like to begin with the lines of the face ... and then working from that line to make the polygons and from the middle of the face until I get the ears ... and then begin with the details ... I hate ears a lot :-) but the nose and eyes are easy stuff ...

in my low poly faces I begin with a cube ... :-) and I know in Maya there is the proxy lines that you can work on the out side box to sculpt the face ;-) I remember that ;-)

I like the face model you did ... can you just explain from where you begin and which way you use to get the nice face model ?

You just can explain by words no need for images or stuff like that

Thanks

Okay shero,

Modeling is one of the great feature of maya, there are plenty of ways how to model, specially a human face from Maya.

The most efficient way is PATCH MODELING draw a curves using your image planes (front, side, top) then once you draw all the base line curves you need to use a "BIRAIL TOOL" to generate a surface along the curves, once the surface is built, then you need to do the operations by attaching and detaching them, then do the global stitch to perfectly attached all the surface.

Once the patch modeling is implemented, the next step is to convert your mesh into polygon to have an easy way of extruding additional detail. Then converting from time to time into subD for pulling and pushing the details you want.

Note:
The tedious and time consuming part is to perfectly align all the curves to have a perfect shape but once its done surfacing and detailing is easy.

I will attache some figures with this explanation.............
