Okay, so I fell asleep before managing to add some hair! :P But, I did manage to do some stereo tests this morning, since I needed a break from the character.

They turned out decent enough, though I still need to play with positioning and camera settings to get the effect that I will want in the end.

Okay, so I've got the character finished as much as I can for this contest. I added a loin-cloth made of some sort of animal fur....bear?

Next will be making the spear and environment!! Hopefully by the end of the weekend. Then onto producing a quality pose/stereo image!!

Finished breaking the character into render layers... won't look very different right now, but it gives me a lot of control for the final image. As well, did a couple more tests for producing a stereo image, I think I have a pretty good grasp on how to technically do it... just need to make the character pose and environment now! Almost done!! (Sort of...)

Nice modelling. However, that model reminded me of 'Settlers VI' where the 'people' are having big heads, short and have large hands + legs (just like your model). Looking forward for more updates and good luck in the competition.

Thanks.

I thought I had posted this last night, but I guess I only pressed the "preview" button (if I posted it in another thread, sorry... it was 5am).

Anyways, I made a pose/stereo test with the ogre spear which I like. Now I just need to create an environment and finalize the placement of the cameras.

woah!!! thats freeeeking amazing!!! unfortunately i don't have any 3d glases handy, so can't really appreciate the effect yet... but looks like that spear coming out of the screen must create an effective 3d feel.

Thanks chaitanyak!!

Unfortunately that image had a lot of ghosting and only worked when you were about 6-8 feet away from the screen (not impressive at that distance)... so I came up with this one after a bunch of testing. I really like this composition, and the depth works on a monitor when you're between 2 and 4 feet away (most likely the distances people will view it at).

lukehackem : Yeah, he defenitely came out looking too happy. Was trying to go for that "sinister" evil smile, but it just didn't work. So I turned him back to a open mouth yell.

em-man-u-el : I fixed up the pose a bit, hopefully this feel a little better.

And now, I'm on to creating the environment and final lighting!

Just waiting for two high-res shots to render right now... crossing my fingers they will finish in time. Unfortunately I have to be done tomorrow as I'm going on vacation... won't be able to make a scene or deploy me "secret weapon" :(

Though I might finish it up later for fun... we'll see.

this ogre is pretty cool..Just work on a better power pose...Think of the coolest pose you can think of while throwing something and just recreate it..Kinda like reaching out the lance or something..He just looks too stiff but other than that it looks cool..Did you model that in Zbrush..
