Making of Suraagh Rasaan- The Detective "
by Snehal Gopal, India

Seven - Then I add some beard and hair in Zbrush. I used the fiber brush to paint the hair on the model. But Fiber brush is a 2.5d brush and in order to use that you have to bake the layer on which you want to paint. Once you bake the layer, all the lighting and shadow information will be saved in the one texture file and now it’s not going to receive any lighting information, so it is extremely important that you finalize your lighting in the scene and then bake the layer.

So for avoiding any problem in the future always duplicates the layer that you are going to bake in Zbrush, so that you can make any changes if required.

Texture Baking allows you to create texture maps based on an object's appearance in the rendered scene. The textures are then “baked” into the object: that is, they become part of the object via mapping, and can be used to display the textured object rapidly on Direct3D devices such as graphics display cards or game engines.

Eight - First time painting with the fiber brush you may have some problems but eventually you will get the hang of it.

Just remember that the most important modifier in fiber brush is – the graving positive value which pulls the hair down and negative value which pulls the hair up. Density controls the amount of hair drawn on the surface. Grooming controls the way hair flows, higher value follows the brush stroke and lower values point towards the normals of the surface.

Initially I thought that I would go without hat but adding a hat would just give him a little bit more characteristics of the detective. The background was painted in the Photoshop.

Nine - My model is fully complete but I want to add something that enhances the look and characteristics of the detective.  So, I gave the look of the movie poster and add a graffiti map in the background to make this more attractive. So, here is the final composite image with some color correction.

Here are the settings of the shaders (skin and wool respectively) which I used in this project.
