For the ground, the grass was created in XFrog as
outlined in the beginning where I created the plant.
Then I converted them to VRay proxies and used
Gugila Planter to scatter them around a surface.
Gugila Planter is similar to the scatter object in Max,
except you not only have much more control of what,
where, and how you can plant, but you can also work
with VRay proxies. And it has a whole lot of other
great features, too.
Finally, here’s a screen shot in Max with all the plants set
up and ready for rendering. Hope you enjoy all the project overview.
