Modeling the Base

First we make the shape of the base with a Rectangle, and collapse it to splines. Try to make the same shape like the image reference below and extrude/bevel the edges according to the requirement.


Now create the following images. You can see a step by step description on how to obtain the shape.


Make an extrude with the modifier (Bevel Profile)


First select the Base Shape, them apply  the modifier (Bevel Profile) and select the second shape Profile Shape.


Play with the second Profile Shape until you are satisfied with the results.
