For texturing I made several 4K maps for head and a slightly smaller map for the eyes. Even although I used hair in my texture, the final hair will be using hair & fur.
For the materials, I've used SSS fast skin for Eyes & head and raytrace material for the corneas. There isn't much to talk here, no tricks at all. Just tweaked everything until start looking good to my eyes. I believe the right amount of bump helps in bringing the realism & beauty.

The hair was one of the biggest challenges, because I always wanted to have long hair, which is normally really difficult to do. It took me quite some time to get it to look the way I wanted.
Here's a test render of one of the versions of her hair that I have. As you might notice, the colour isn't the same as in the final render. I need to render the hair separately from the head and then correct it's colour in post-production, using Photoshop.
Initially I thought of making the final image of her just using one side of her face, like if it was a poster (I really like those kind of images), but since her eyes looked pretty I changed my mind and decided to make a full portrait.
