Making of the Toilet by RenjuBosco, India

Hi, every one. My name is RenjuBosco, a game artist from India. I would like to thank CGArena and the sponsors for giving this opportunity to do the making of my image done for accident challenge which won 2nd prize in the competition, it was a great competition and I learned a lot. This is an insight to my workflow; hope it will help some of you guys out there.

Concept

When I came to know about the competition, the first thing that came to my mind was the unfortunate incident that happened to my friend, almost similar so decided to give a go. I searched internet a lot and got some references, also decided to make it in a comic style so exaggerated the character and his gestures.

I mainly relied on ZBrush for the character sculpting, 3d max 2009 for modeling hard surfaces and rendering, UV layout for UV's, and Photoshop, BodyPaint for texturing.


Modeling


The character was fully sculpted in ZBrush along with his cloths and then retopoed it in max using the retopo script, By the way this is a wonderful script, I will recommend every one to try that out. The sculpting started from a base mesh that I made in max. All the hard surfaces were made in max using the regular poly modeling techniques for subd.
