Carrot -
For the carrot, I decide to give them a cartoon looking and go further by adding mouth and eyes. Legs and arm was useless for the scene and somehow give them a desperate looking harder is to escape without legs...
The modeling is done with a primitive cone then edit poly the mouth and eyes, for the branch I used loft for the main body and opacity map for the detail, I duplicate the first carrot and change the copy giving them different sizes, poses and expressions.
Chef -
I model in edit poly the head, then the body and the hand, the hand are model in basic shape than I give them the right position with morpher, same technique for the body and the face. I also add some mustache and hair using 3d studio max “hair and fur”.
I didn`t need the lower body part for the picture but I will do it for make a complete character model later, here it is the different steps of the character modeling and texturing.
For the texturing I used fast SSS without any specular to give a cartoonish/doll effect.
