Fifth Step – The big jump
Here comes the big jump on the picture at my point of view. After answered everyone and say thanks to them, I started to improve the final piece.
I really liked the texture that Mathias Herbster showed to me in the paint over, so I started to push on that direction.
And also, this last image was one of my last e-mails that I got, by that time I did a couple changes in the colors of the image, because everything was so white that make looks like boring as some of them said.
Taking in considering what everyone’s said, contrast and focal point are the main common observations pointed out from everybody. And other little things that I will try to catch on the fly.
This is how started to look like after the critiques. Added some reddish strips in the lighthouse to make it pop out trying to create more focal point around that area where my subject is.
This blue tonality that I get comes from Colour Corrections via adjustment layers like Hue/Saturation, Levels, this image below is without those changes.
I put a black & white adjustment layer on top of everything for checking my values, as it was suggested.
Comparison between without and with snow effects. Snow was just painted on new layers as you could see in the snow folders. And also I duplicated the same layer and make some changes in the mask, and played with the color dodge blend mode to give some highlights around the picture.
