I am very happy with the possibility of sharing somethings I've been studying. This work was the result of what I learned while studying with Sam Nielson last year. This is the initial sketch, that required some reference images of Arale, a character from the japanese manga Dr. Slump.
Going on with the sketch, I began to define some darker areas and play with the values. This way I could achieve some volume. I used two brushes: a rectangular one and a Photoshop default rounded brush. I am providing the brushes that utilize in this painting, but I basically use the defaults photoshop with the Shape dynamics and transfer options enabled in pen pressure. Download Brushes
