This piece have been realized with marketing purposes for the Umaykut MMO game. Umaykut is based on Anatolian/Middle Eastern culture.
My first startup point was to establish some sketches, based on the goal of the illustration which was to build a female character which should reflect a strong, beautiful and somewhat sexy warrior. The character`s pose also should have reflected the power and masculinity of the warrior side of the female so I have picked the 3rd sketch and I have started the illustration.

In this step I have tried to establish the final composition of the illustration using black and white value balance without any colors. After I finish the general values for the background and the figure I have started to change the figure to make it standup from the background on the form levels.
First I have changed the sword with a bow. This let me to give a sword to the other hand of the character.
I generally use the smudge tool to get some gradient transitions in this step. This way I can get the general feeling of the illustration easily. Also I generaly use the standart brushes of Photoshop .
