I have started to bring up the character in this step. The first thing you need to watch is to try to keep the detail level very low and try to develop the character based on the goal of the illustration. After some more decisions also on the background I have passed to the coloring stage.
I have used the color balance tool on the black and white image to convert it to get the single colors and tones. I have added a color layer on top of the character layer and seperated the skin, clothes and other colors. Added some details on the rocks in the front.
And started painting the sky with a blue color to add some contrast.
I have added the final details in this step. After I have finished the details of the clothes, the fur and face I have finalized the details of the weapons. I have used the good old smudge tool again to paint the pattern for leather and fur. For the shininess of the metals I have made small dabs with the dodge tool with highlight setting.
