Painting Process
I had started with the main character. The sun light is coming from the top right and behind the head of the character. For this tutorial I made the biggest sphere to explain the light and reflect, Sun light is very brightening on the right and effect light is from the clouds that reflect from the sun light.
The smaller sphere is to show light and reflects of the boy on the creature. In the process of painting the character I only used the round brush. (Opacity 100% and Flow 45-50%) I started from the dark tone of the character and then painted the light-color on the parts that light can shine on, such as cheekbone, eyeball, etc. Then add the reflect-color under the body of the character and completed the details.
When I completed the main character, I continued with the background. I followed the same process as used for the character but for the clouds I used different brush (Spatter 59 pixels 1) in the final process, set the layer to “Overlay”.
This layer will help the picture in bringing more contrast. I have used the same painting process in every cloud.
