Rendering and Global Illumination

For rendering I have used Vray renderer. Anything I have changed is shown in the next images:

I also used VRay environment, with white color and checked override Max’s.

More info about Vray renderer can be found here: http://www.vray.info/links.asp?categoryID=3

Post Production

For post production I have loaded the image in Photoshop and started to paintJ.I have created several new layers: one for the signs on the walls, one for the egg slime, one for the dust and a last one for the sunrays.

For the signs on the walls I have searched on the internet for an alien like font .Using that font I have just reduced the opacity of the layer and that’s it. For the egg slime I simply painted it with several green colors, and played around with blur, burn and smudge tools. For the dust I have made a polygonal selection, as big as the floor then I have filled it with a dust like color and played with eraser tool, smudge tool and again blur tool. I also lowered the opacity of this layer to 25% or something like that. For the sunrays I created several polygonal selections, I have filled them with a white-yellow color. After that I have modified opacity of the layer, erased parts of the selection, played with colors and blur tool .I also changed a little bit the contrast and brightness of the background and created a layer with low opacity for the occlusion pass. Finally I have made a color layer to add the same color style to all of the composition and I have added some noise and some Gaussian blur .This is it. Now we have the final image.
