Making of Angel by Edward Fleissig

Then, using Photoshop's layers palette, I've opened Channels and I've added a new channel where I've copied alpha. Then, I've inversed the channel ctrl+i (it can be inversed also in the moment of opening the file) and I've selected all the channels except the Alpha 1.

After that, I opened Filter>Blur>Lens blur. These are the settings that I've made for obtaining the DOF effect as in the images I've shown.

The last effect that I add to a rendering for saturation of the colors and for creating a certain atmosphere is: I multiply the layer, I fix it as a blend mode on overlay and I add a gaussian blur filter with a radius of 7-8, than I reduce the opacity of the layer till 45%. Also, I make different corrections for the colours, I add the sharpen filter, I modify the contrast and the light, I set the levels.

This is the final front rendering. I hope that this tutorial was helpful and I'm convinced that there are much easier or much better ways to obtain the same results as the ones I've obtained, but this is for the moment my way of work that I use and that I've learned by myself also from some tutorials posted on the internet by other talented artists. Thank you and good luck with your work!
