Handyman world created in CGI for Mercedes
New Mercedes Vito campaign launched last week has been created 100% in CGI by the creative team at Happy Finish.
Mercedes has chosen CGI as the perfect tool to showcase their advertising campaign for the new range of Vito vans.
Happy Finish has collaborated with creative agency Cygnus to realise the creative vision of art director, Stephen Sellick. This sees a cityscape made up of work tools & home appliances, forming a backdrop to the main star, the new Vito van.
“It’s been fantastic to work on this project. It’s a first to create an entire city out of appliances and it proved sometimes challenging to get the balance between the object looking recognisable as the device whilst representing a building as well. However we feel the final image stays true to the original concept, as well as looking believable. That is the beauty of creating a vision in CGI.” noted lead CGI artist, Simon Nankivell.
This is to be shown around the UK in a multi platform ad campaign including press, outdoor media, online and interactive animations. One of the great assets of the CGI process is that models created for the print campaign could also be utilised for animation and online content.
Happy Finish’s MD, Stuart Waplington said ‘It’s great to see agencies taking advantage of the multi channel outlets CGI offers; working on various platforms over web, print and outdoor media whilst maintaining consistency and being cost effective.’
